Dec 16th and 23rd: Two Saturday Walks

Saturday 16th December: I planned to walk from Calshot Spit to Ashlett Creek as part of my bid to get to know the shoreline which we see from Calshot Tower. Last winter I did the shoreline between Lee-on-the-Solent and Warsash. Unfortunately, on this occasion, it turned out that the footbridge over the Power Station dock entrance was closed for maintenance so I did not get far with my walk. However I’m including the photos here since the Power Station complex is going to be redeveloped and everything might soon start to get demolished or changed. The photos were taken with my iPhone.

Saturday 23rd December: On Christmas Day morning I usually go for a walk, however this year the weather forecast looks poor so I decided to bring the date forward! I drove down to Milford on Sea early in the morning and walked along Hurst Spit. To the end of the Spit and back is only just over 4 miles but walking on the shingle makes it seem longer!
