4th – 18th June: Living Room Roof

The weather during the week starting with the 28th May Spring Bank holiday was very warm, to the extent that there was a constant threat of thunderstorms, or at least, heavy downpours. This prevented any work on the living room roof until the week starting 4th June. That week, builder and neighbour, Mark stripped off the old roofing felt covering. It was not properly stuck down in the area that had leaked – probably because when I bought the house they had had to strip that area back to satisfy the building inspector. He fitted the “light tunnels” and got the far end of the room ready for the plasterer to do the new ceiling on the 16th June. Mark then finished the light tunnels on the 18th. Now I need to think about redecorating the room!
