Friday, 16th August was another windy day with bad weather forecast for the afternoon. Most races were held on short courses and there was a lot of action close to the south cardinal mark buoy which marks the end of Lepe Spit.

Saturday 17th August was meant to be the last day of Cowes Week but, with the bad weather of Friday afternoon and the Friday fireworks, it seemed something of an anticlimax. At Lepe the water was claimed by windsurfers…
