13th Mar: Jetty Rebuild – Week 3

(Week 3: 9th to 14th March) With Seatern having gone to Germany the river end of the jetty was now fully accessible, and even more so when the pontoon with the Seafly was moved onto the hard standing near the shed. It was also used to store the Canadian canoe, I’ll probably leave the canoe on the pontoon when the jetty is completed and the pontoon moored at its end. The rest of the holes were dug and by the end of the week all the uprights were in place and concreted.
Also during this week the Millboard lengths for the jetty deck were delivered. Stacked in a pile they looked rather synthetic but based on past experience, I thought they would look fine once cut and fastened in place.
The following weeks’ work is described here.
