9th July: Cowes – Dinard – St Malo race
I was on watch at NCI Stone Point for the afternoon shift on Friday 9th July so I turned up early to take some photos of the Cowes – St Malo race going past. Unfortunately it was another dull day with only the occasional glimpse of sunlight. However here are some photos of yachts which were either in the race, or passing Lepe Country Park at the time.
Most of the racing entrants stayed over on the isle of Wight side of the Solent, however the large trimarans tacked across to the mainland side so they tend to dominate in the photo album!
Here are some photos of other vessels on the water that day. A Swallow Yachts BayCruiser 23 (sail number 61), Seafin going into the Beaulieu River, and a few yachts with spinnakers set. I have a soft spot for Seafin having chartered her for my 70th Birthday celebration!
