25th August: Round the Island Power Boats

I turned up early at NCI Stone Point for the “10am” start of the Round the Island Power Boat Race.  As it was they didn’t start until around 10:20.  Usually when there has been a power boat race it has been grey and misty, however this day it was sunny. Also they started from the Royal Yacht Squadron line rather than East Lepe buoy so they were not obscured by spectator boats.

They were supposed to end at East Lepe, but must have ended off Cowes.  Strangely, although looking, we didn’t see them finish.
