1st Jan: New Year’s Day & 2026 Calendar

I was on watch at NCI Stone Point on New Year’s day – at least I don’t have a hang-over nowadays!  There were a few swimmers at Lepe and an organised event going on at Calshot.  It annoyed me that Solent Rescue went to the latter where RNLI Calshot were on the water anyway, rather than standing off Lepe, which might have been more useful.  A few people went in the water but not for long!

In recent years my annual calendar has used photos taken while on watch at NCI Stone Point, but for 2026 I was also able to choose from the photos I’d taken from S.S. Shieldhall at the start of the Fastnet Race:
