May 2nd-19th: Beach Defences

The work on the beach defences east of “the end of the trees” continued through May. To make the breakwaters they are sinking 8 foot posts into the ground and then cutting the tops of about 2 foot above beach level. The photos taken on 19th May, with the work finished, show that the breakwaters are effective in building the beach level. However access to the beach is now more difficult for anyone with mobility problems.
