5th May: Chessel Bay at low tide
Earlier in the day (before taking the outboard apart), at low tide I walked around Chessel Bay which is a nature reserve. Below is a panorama, the allowed anchorage area (where I was on the 3rd) is on the inshore side of the pontoon and seems generally clear of river bed obstructions. I’m planning to make more use of it as a place to wait for the tide – it is much less restricted timewise compared to my jetty. The lower panorama shows the nature reserve part of the Bay near Kemp’s Boatyard.
