The first week of August has continued the hot weather of July! It cooled off a bit and some favourable winds meant I got through Hurst Narrows and through the North Channel on a couple of occasions. I also, at long last, fixed the lid of the toilet!

Drifting and sailing down the western Solent, discovering the back eddy at the Trap, and turning off Milford-on-Sea. Back through some of the Cowes Week racing fleets!

A whole day trip past Hurst Narrows and hoping to get to Hengistbury Head. However i was worried that the wind would drop and turned back at Chewton Bunny, a valley or chine in Highcliffe which is a nature reserve.
Coming back from Chewton Bunny I’d made a mess of furling the asymmetric spinnaker before gybing. This was the first time things had gone wrong...
