Jan. 17th: Hurst Spit after Storm Brendan

Having been shocked by the erosion along Hurst Spit during my Christmas Day walk I thought I’d go and see how it had fared during the storm surge and high winds which accompanied storm Brendan. It was still windy and waves were breaking over the Singles Bank out towards the Needles.

To my surprise, and relief, the Spit did not seem worse than at Christmas; maybe there has been some maintenance done. There did seem to have been a mortality event for cuttlefish!
