Feb. 12th : Hurst Spit after Storm Ciara
I was curious to see what effect storm Ciara had had on Hurst spit. It turned out that the top of the spit was still intact although in at least one spot there was only just enough width for a vehicle to drive out to Hurst Castle. Someone had put sticks into the shingle to mark the main erosion points. As I walked back to the car a low-loaded arrived with one of those big tipper trucks that they used at quarries.
