Hobart – Wrest Point Hotel
We had been booked into the Wrest Point Hotel which is situated right beside the River Derwent. The lower section of the building is a Casino. I have to admit I found it a little depressing to walk through the casino on the way to breakfast and see people playing the “pokies” as slot machines are called in Australia.

My room, on the 7th floor, faced east over the river and I was treated to some beautiful sunrises.
