15th July: Exbury in the rain
It was only light rain but enough to ensure the gardens were beautifully quiet during the first hour or so of opening when these photos were taken. The rhododendrons are finished but the hydrangeas have come into flower. In a search for the Exbury exhibit at Chelsea (disappointing!) I found myself in what I guess are the herbaceous beds. A part of the garden I don’t normally visit.
But the ponds were beautiful as always; the last photo is the view from the Japanese bridge up towards “Mrs Lionel’s Seat”.
