6th March: Exbury Gardens is open again!

I’ve really missed being able to visit Exbury Gardens on my way to standing watches at NCI Stone Point.  So when it opened from 2nd March, initially for members only, I was keen to go!  However February has been the wettest on record and the weather has showed no sign of changing as March commenced.  The days I was on watch were wet, so in the end I made a special trip out to Exbury on Wednesday, 6th March, to visit before the gardens opened to the public.

The daffodil meadow seemed to be still coming into full bloom, and there were camellias and early rhododendrons in flower.  Under foot it was very wet and they are asking people to stick to the paths to avoid ground damage.
