August started with windy weather. On the 10th the SailGP event at the start of Cowes week was cancelled due to the wind. I was at NCI Stone Point each day during Cowes week and some days the weather closed in, other days the winds made for some spectacular sailing. In September NCI Calshot was presented with the QAVS, Solent Model Boat Club had it’s autumn show, there was the Boat Show, and, at the month’s end, the threat of floods from the River Itchen. To my horror these various commitments coincided with the possible sailing days!
