Colorado National Monument

We left Moab north on the US191 to Thompson Springs; then east and back into Colorado. Somewhere along the route we actually saw a stretch of water; it was such a shock we took a photo of it! We camped at the Colorado National Monument in, as usual, a very pleasant National Park Service campsite.

Colorado National Monument is a spectacular mixture of redrock cliffs and sandstone spires. The Rimrock Drive climbs onto the plateau and gives spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.
