Returning to Cape Town
Having achieved our aim of seeing elephants at Addo National Park we returned to the coast and stayed overnight at Jeffreys Bay. Famous for surf breaks like “Supertubes” the area first came to fame in the movie “The Endless Summer” which featured the nearby St. Francis Bay surf break.
Sadly when we visited the surf was not good, and the weather was wet. It was one place where I remember having trouble with mosquitos in our room. But it was good to have seen the place all the same!
We then detoured back inland and stayed in Montagu where we hiked on the Cogman’s Kloof Trail near that town.

Our inland route meant that we approached Cape Town through the Stellenbosch area, famous for its vineyards. Nearer Cape Town it also broought us past some of the “Townships“, a legacy of apartheid. During the journey we took some photos from the car of the passing landscape.
