18th April: Exbury Gardens

With about an hour to spare before I needed to be at the Scout Hut for the CPR/Defibrillator course I headed to Exbury Gardens, supposedly for a walk.  However the tea room was quieter than I expected and I couldn’t resist having a scone and jam under one of the cherry trees!

The rhododendrons are now in flower so the gardens are very busy.  Some areas a really OTT with banks of blooms.  But somehow the beauty of the place shines through, and there are some magnificent trees to offset the bright colours below.
