I’m sure Nicky must have taken most of these photos, having a better eye for capturing people’s character. If one goes back to Marrakech nowadays I wonder how much has changed?
No doubt the water carriers still exist. These characters in there highly decorative costumes seemed to make as much money by posing for photos as by selling water. Naturally we sneaked a couple of photos while they weren’t looking – partly because it was a challenge, but also because the photo is truer.
